What you see from the basket

From the air you see the whole plan of the ancient city: the Pyramid of the Sun, the third largest pyramid in the world by volume; the Pyramid of the Moon at the north end; and the Avenue of the Dead, the ceremonial road that joins them. On clear mornings the volcanoes Popocatépetl and Iztaccíhuatl rise on the southern horizon.

How to get to Teotihuacan for the flight

• Our shared vanIncluded in the All Inclusive, or MX$1,500 per person as an add-on. We collect you at your hotel around 4:30 AM.
• Your own car or a private driverThe drive takes about an hour before dawn. We send the check-in time and the map by WhatsApp.
• Public busBuses to Teotihuacan leave from Terminal Autobuses del Norte, but they do not reliably arrive before sunrise, so they rarely work for a balloon flight.

What to wear

Dawn in the Teotihuacan valley feels cold, and the burner above the basket feels warm, so dress in layers you can take off. Wear closed shoes because landing fields have grass and dirt. Bring a cap, sunscreen and a valid photo ID for every adult.

After the flight

Most travelers land by mid-morning, which leaves time to walk the archaeological zone before the midday heat. Buy the INAH ticket at the site entrance. With the All Inclusive, the van returns you to the Ángel de la Independencia around 1:00 PM.
